The 2005 Winter Solstice Light Evening Celebration
began with luminaria that lead to the Woodinville Heritage Garden site where about 20 people enjoyed munching cookies and mingling in the middle of quiet winter fields. Sweet strains of seasonal fiddle music and hot cider on the toasty woodstove in the little old cabin . In spite of the rain, a gorgeous warm campfire and lots of candle light and laughter made it a lovely memorable evening.
The 2006 Winter Solstice Light Evening Celebration was a cheerful repeat performance of the 2005 list of events with guitar sounds for music around the campfire. There was no rain but windstorms and power outages the previous week left many of those attending a little less nostalgic about candlelight.
